Structural Associates (SA) employs up to 100 devoted team members including craftsman, carpenters, apprentice carpenters, laborers, service professionals and office staff. All employees share the company’s work ethic and are committed to the company’s philosophy and processes. We believe SA is “right-sized”, where our strength allows us to provide dedicated project oversight, strong negotiation and buying power, full in-house framing and finish crews, research capabilities, knowledgeable service for our past projects, professional business communication, and the security that SA will be here to stand behind its work and that of our trade partners for years to come. At the same time, SA maintains its personalized service through world-class customer service, direct involvement of our Partners in every project, the flexibility to optimize the field staff based on daily needs, and lasting trade partner relationships.
The following Structural Associates team members are responsible for the success of SA’s projects.
Principal: One of SA’s Principals commits to oversee every project from start to finish.
Field Superintendent: A dedicated, hands-on Field Superintendent works directly with the carpentry crews and manages the coordination and supervision of all field operations throughout the life of the project.
Project Manager: The Project Manager coordinates the involvement of all team members, including the Architect, Engineers, Interior Designer, trade partners and, of course, the client, with acute focus on the project’s schedule and budget.
Field Crew: At Structural Associates, we believe it is important to retain our own craftsmen. SA’s skilled carpenters are available to complete all elements of the framing and trim phases on any project, from log and timber framing to ultra contemporary styles. Though some of our clients require the use of our internal teams, we are also happy to work with qualified trade partners who can bring the proper value to a project.
Mill Shop Craftsmen: Our comprehensive shop is staffed by some of the area’s highest skilled craftsmen and artisans who create beautiful custom pieces and furnishings as well as full kitchens, libraries and wine rooms. The shop also allows us to produce exacting samples to assist our clients and design professionals in the decision making process.
Office and Operations Personnel: The administrative, accounting and operations teams work directly with the Principals, Project Managers and field personnel in support of each project. These professionals are available to address our clients’ and trade partners’ needs, no matter what they may be.
Service Staff: Structural Associates’ service team is available 24/7/365. Equipped with fully stocked trucks, the team can perform annual preventive maintenance to keep all of our projects in like-new condition while also remaining prepared to attend to the occasional emergency. We don’t believe that the measure of excellence is in simply producing a new home but, rather, in creating a home that will continue to look and function as it did when new for years to come. We encourage our prospective clients to tour our older homes to understand our commitment to quality.
Facilities: Structural Associates has offices in Glenwood Springs and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The Glenwood Springs operations facility was built in 1995 and consists of a 2,400 sq ft office building and a 5,400 sq ft mill shop and storage building located on 7 acres on the banks of the Roaring Fork River. Housing communications equipment, meeting areas and SA’s administrative and accounting teams, this location serves as the central hub for the organization. The facility also contains a 28 kW photovoltaic system which allows SA to meet a minimum of 75% of our energy demand. The mill shop allows Structural Associates to offer services and products that other’s simply can’t match while the large storage area allows SA to order construction materials in quantity at discount rates and well in advance of their scheduled installation date.
Structural Associates’ Steamboat Springs office opened in 2003 and is staffed with SA Partners to support our local clients.
